- BMW's club racer is fitted with a G-Power supercharger and titanium exhaust system, resulting in a boost in output to 626 horsepower.
- G-Power also tweaks the engine control unit, but leaves the M3 GTS suspension untouched.
- Price of the supercharger system in Europe is $33,400, plus installation.
AUTENZELL, Germany — G-Power, the longtime BMW tuning specialist, has created a very focused upgrade kit for the limited-edition BMW M3 GTS club racer. The tuner's SK II "Sporty Drive" supercharger system turns the car into "the world's most powerful M3 GTS," according to G-Power, and costs $33,400, plus installation, in Europe.
G-Power's system includes an ECU tweak on the 4.4-liter V8, plus a titanium exhaust system with metal catalysts, quad pipes and lower back pressure. The result is an increase in output to 626 horsepower, with torque climbing to 465 pound-feet.
The supercharged M3 GTS now zips from 0-60 in less than 4.2 seconds, climbing to a top speed of 201 mph.
Inside Line says: Curiously, G-Power has left the racecar's suspension and wheels untouched, claiming the standard setup from BMW's M GmbH "already guarantees perfect balance and race-ready handling."

Why am I not surprised how CTS-V gets mentioned in every effing article? If we talk about value at this point, then Veyron should have 15,000 hp and a lightning speed. Yes, we get it, CTS-V offers the best value in the world, has uber high amounts of power and beats everything that'll ever be made. Happy?
Some of us want to have options, or want to buy something that is inferior and overpriced. OK?
Anyway, back to the article, what you pay at this price point is exclusivity. It's not always about the raw power, it is about the way the car makes you feel. And this M3 GTS seems to be special. So special in fact that Vicki from Fifth Gear says it's one of the best cars she ever drove.

$33k for 626hp? That much coin will buy you 1,000hp in a CTS-V, and you can get 626hp for about $2k.

I pitty the fool who drives a car of this color and optioned with such lack of taste.
A used, stock, and manual E90 or E92 with 19" wheels ..ok in, black, white, blue, or grey.
Thats it, Anything more or different ruins this generation M3.

The MSRP for the 2011 BMW M3 GTS is $140,000 U.S. Add this $33,400 package and you are looking at $173,400 (before installation). Now, obviously there are a handful of cars more elegant such as the Maserati GrandTourismo S, Aston Martin Virage / DB9, Audi R8 V10.
So what exactly is the purpose of this car? Ah, the track of course you say!! And this is where it fails miserably, revealing itself as a porky, overpriced M3.
Porsche GT3 3.8 schools it on a track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gijhyT9YA9c
So can you imagine what a GT3 4.0 will do to this car on a track?
BMW should just stick to making luxurious, sporty cars (although the current 5 and 7 series are bloated pigs). Adding more HP and a huge ricer wing won't make this M3 a great track car by any measure when comparing to true track gems of this era.

M3 "GTS" folks. Not a standard M3. So unless the Gintani is a racer, these guys claims may be right
I do agree that this could not be more tastefully done unless they tones the color down. This is a very good looking vehicle.

Key word: "Claims..." You have no idea about the amount of money rich parents poor into their 20 year old kid's M3 nowadays. I'm not aiming that statement at anyone who bought and paid for their own M3.

It isn't the most powerful E92 M3, not even close, there are several stronger examples: http://www.bimmerboost.com/showthread.php?294-Gintani-Supercharged-DCT-M3-700-HP-World-Record-Fastest-E9X

I was also struck by how tasteful this is for a tuner car. Nothing over the top, not slammed, sane wheels, no fast and furious front clip. It looks like something a self-respecting adult would drive.
I guess they figure that after dropping $33K on the upgrades, people may not want to spend more to tart it up.
