    Just the Facts:
    • The German tuner installs a new body kit on the M3 that turns it into a replica of BMW's GT2-class racecar.
    • The "Interceptor" wide-body kit includes a front and rear bumper, hood, side skirts and huge rear spoiler.
    • CLP also ups the M3's output to just under 600 horsepower.

GEORGENSGM ÜND, Germany — German tuning house CLP Automotive has unleashed its modification package for the BMW M3 that makes it look like an M3 GT2-class racer — complete with sponsor decals plastered all over the exterior.

But the tuner couldn't just make the M3 look like a Le Mans Series-ready car without increasing output. It manages to squeeze an extra 178 horses out of the 4.4-liter V8, thanks to a turbo setup and a stainless-steel titanium exhaust system by Akrapovic, bringing net output to 592 horsepower.

The company also added Bilstein coil-overs to lower the car and upgrade the BMW's already very capable suspension.

The cool part of the package is the exterior, which was completely revamped to look like a replica of a BMW M3 GT2 racecar. It gets a wide-body kit called the "Interceptor" that features a front bumper, vented hood, fender flares, side skirts, rear bumper and spoiler.

Nineteen-inch mock BBS wheels improve the stance and include locking center caps, while an M livery and array of sponsorship decals finish off the masquerade.

Inside, the M3's rear seats are removed to make room for a full roll cage and Recaro racing seats.

CLP says the package will be priced at the equivalent of $97,000.

Inside Line says: CLP gives BMW racing fans the chance to own a GT2-like vehicle at a fraction of the cost.

Can I have that widebody kit for a road going M3?  Minus all the hideous decals, and those god awful overplayed 90s BBS wheels.
