MUNICH, Germany — BMW North America has priced its new Competition package, also known as the ZCP, that will be available for the M3 coupe and sedan. The subtle upgrade will cost $2,500 and will be ready for installation on 2011 models in April.
A highly modified, GTS-like M3 was recently spied wearing what people thought was the Competition package, but it turns out that wasn't the ZCP. BMW's official announcement makes it clear that the package is actually much more subtle.
Modifications include an 0.4-inch-lower suspension, 19-inch wheels with a greater offset and remapped Electronic Damping Control and Dynamic Stability Control systems. BMW calls the M3 with the Competition package the "best-handling production M car ever built."
The MSRPs for the M3 sedan, coupe and convertible remain at $56,275, $59,275 and $67,925, respectively, for the 2011 model year. The package will be available at BMW dealers this spring.
Inside Line says: For those looking for a more aggressive look than what the Competition package will offer, there is always the harder-core M3 GTS. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent

This is a weak package!!! They should at least include the adjustable suspension or a tight ratio steering rack and better brakes like the 6 pistons from the M3 GTS.

Why improve handling when this M3's handling is already superb? With no increase in hp, torque, or reduction in weight; what is the point?
If anything, they should've tightened up this M3's notoriously light and numb steering feel; which is a weakness observed and described from day ONE! urgghh

Wheels, tiny drop and remap... that's it? Awww.... the E46 M3 ZCP had a tighter ratio steering rack, better brakes, and a nice new interior trim too.
