The Frozen Black Edition M3 Coupe is powered by a 414-horsepower 4.0-liter V8 mated to the M DCT dual-clutch transmission.
The equipment list includes a Competition package, Premium package and Convenience package, plus heated front seats and a premium audio system.

The exterior looks dull. It looks like an undercover law enforcement car.

out of curiosity, where did all the initial comments go? did the arguments between manual and DCT get so out of hand the thread had to be wiped clean?!

im a big fan of the m3 & bimmers in general...
but the price on this car is stupid expensive$$$$.. nothin really special in general. im all about
performance & a fancy paint job(that i really dislike) & other small things dont justify the price.
I WISH Bimmer would have let us americans get our hands on their m3 GTS. that car is worth the mark up... But for now!
gimme a GT-R ANY DAY.. LOL

Sorry, call me old but I'm just not diggin' on matte finishes on any vehicle. I know they became "en vogue" about a year or two ago, but it just looks unappealing to me.

I don't know what the average transaction is for the M3, but I rather doubt many of them are zero-option $61,000 cars. I've never seen one like that in a showroom. Even still, a $81,000 M3 seems like a really poor value.

Yikes... 5k for a (ugly) matte-black paint job? Makes the new M3 look like my neighbor's kids '91 Corolla, fat exhaust and all!

"For an almost $20K premium, you pay for a semi-matte paint job with NO performance upgrades over the "regular" M3? "
The premium is only about $5K over a regular M3 as it has most of the available options included in the price.
