So for this exciting installment of my somewhat well-regarded column, I'm featuring nothing but street racing videos. My assumption is that everyone seen in these clips is now suffering through an agonizing rehabilitation from their serious injuries, in prison, or both.
Or maybe they'll be out this weekend shooting fresh footage.
Lamborghini Gallardo vs. Ferrari Maranello
Let's start this festival of illegal speed with a pair of Italian exotics: the Lamborghini Gallardo and Ferrari's 550 Maranello. Except for the fact that it was apparently shot somewhere in North America, I don't know anything else about this race.
But I also know that this proves that just because you have money and can afford a Lamborghini or Ferrari, that doesn't mean you won't misbehave badly.
Ferrari F430 vs. Porsche 911 Turbo
Any time a Porsche Turbo pulls up next to a midengine Ferrari, a race has to be more likely than not. In fact, that's why I don't own either an F430 or 911 Turbo — it would be just too much temptation for me.
Plus, well, I'm poor.
BMW M3 Turbo vs. Lamborghini Diablo
Of course street racing isn't restricted to America, as this clip from glamorous and exotic somewhere-in-Europe proves. It seems irrefutable that they're nuts over there as well.
Supposedly the BMW M3 (it looks like a mid-'90s E36 to me) from which this video was shot is turbocharged and the Lamborghini involved is the underrated Diablo. What's amazing is how the two cars slalom among buses full of tourists as if they were running a parking lot gymkhana.
Mustang vs. Supra Turbo
This is a match-up between two of the most notorious street racing vehicles ever unleashed: the "Fox Body" Ford Mustang and the legendary "Mark IV" Toyota Supra Turbo. The Mustang's V8 sounds mighty healthy in this video, but the moment the turbo in that Supra spooled up, I pretty much knew which car was going to win this race.
I was right.
Corvette Z06 vs. Nitrous-Fed Camaro Z28
The Chevrolet small-block V8 is the backbone of racing throughout the world. And that obviously includes street racing. And the most natural homes for the small-block are the Corvette and Camaro.
In this case it's a C5-generation Z06 'Vette going up against a fourth-generation Camaro Z28 with an LT1 hyped up on a diet of nitrous.

"BMW M3 Turbo vs. Lamborghini Diablo" was definitely shot in Turkey... Mediterranean or Black Sea coast.
Make sure those crazy street racers are more than you can see in Europe or North America
