Full story: Although many criticized the contours of the current BMW 7 Series, it sold like hotcakes. But Chris Bangle's radical design has now been softened. The revised model will be introduced at the Geneva Motor Show.
The cosmetic changes to the new 2005 7 Series include a re-crafting of the headlights, kidney grille, hood, and front and rear air dams; the rear also will have modified taillights and a new chrome trim strip. The chassis and the suspension will also be updated.
In an effort to keep pace with the competition, the new 7 Series will also be offered with more-powerful V8 engines. The 750Li will have a 4.8-liter V8 delivering 362 hp at 6,300 rpm; the 740Li with its 4.0-liter V8 makes 302 hp at the same rpm.
Customers will have the choice of two suspension packages in addition to a standard set-up. The Adaptive Drive suspension includes BMW's Dynamic Drive with EDC-C continuously adjustable damper control system.
What this means to you: BMW keeps taking its best and making it better. Now...about that trunk stack.
