    What Is It?
    2003 BMW 7 Series Sport

    What's Special About It?
Noting that 50 percent of previous-generation 7 Series buyers opted for the Sport Package, BMW has added it to the options list for the 2003 745i and 745Li.

As the cars remain luxury sedans first and foremost, identifying features are subtle rather than aggressive. But look closely at the wheels and you'll see that they're 19-inchers with 245/45 tires in front and slightly lower-profile 245/40 rubber in back. Inside, you'll find more heavily bolstered sport seats and a three-spoke sport steering wheel, which includes the Steptronic shift controls that became standard on all 7 Series cars in January. Firmer suspension tuning completes the package.

    Why Should You Care?
Like every BMW, the 7 Series is more engaging to drive than most competing nameplates. The Sport Package treatment will give it an extra edge when owners decide to take the scenic route. — Erin Riches
