Bentley Continental GT Transformed Into Pop Art Sculpture

BERLIN — A Bentley Continental GT, done up in polka dots, a "large, happy flower" and a "red heart" is bound for auction in September. It is the work of Brazilian pop artist Romero Britto and is currently on display here at an exhibition in the Automobil Forum Unter den Linden titled "Come to My World."

In what must be the understatement of the year, Bentley said that "This is probably one of the most unusual Bentleys ever seen."

The artist has adorned the car with such incongruous touches as little stars, squiggles and "comic-like figures."

Bentley said Britto is known for "creating a fantasy world inhabited by childlike creatures and optimistic, strong colors."

The car will be put up for auction to benefit the Nathalie Todenhofer Foundation for multiple sclerosis and Best Buddies, an organization dedicated to improving the integration of the mentally disabled within society, said Bentley. The auction will take place after the exhibition ends on September 6.
