Just when you thought the Speed model was the ultimate Bentley Continental, the company comes up with another version of their sexy coupe and this one’s even quicker. As the Bentley Continental Supersports takes center stage in Geneva, we do a double take at the spec sheet that shows a 0-60 time of only 3.7 seconds. Power comes from a turbocharged 6.0 liter W12 engine that’s good for an astonishing 621 hp. The Supersports version is lighter too thanks to lightweight 20-inch wheels, standard carbon-ceramic brakes and lightweight carbon-fiber sport seats. The standard Continental body has been modified to accommodate a 2-inch-wider rear track in back and deliver 10 percent more air into the engine up front. To fend off the criticism that will likely follow any vehicle as garish and thristy as the Supersports, Bentley is giving this version of the Continental E-85 flex-fuel ability, although initial US versions will be gasoline only. In fact, Bentley's planning to make its entire range compatible with renewable fuels by 2012. Will be enough to convince anybody that a 5,000 pound coupe is environmentally friendly? Uhh…did we mention it has over 600 horsepower?
