LONDON — Bentley and Jaguar have brought their old-school appeal into the 21st century with the announcement of product-themed applications for the iPad and iPhone. The 2011 Bentley Continental GT and the entire Jaguar lineup can now be shopped, configured and interacted with using the Apple technology.
The iPad app for the Bentley Continental GT started with the ability to look at, download and share images of the new car, which debuted this month at the 2010 Paris Auto Show. The app also has historical information and details about how Bentleys are made, information about the Bentley Mulsanne and teasers for the Continental Supersports supercar, as well as video, including test track footage.
The Jaguar application is an iConfigurator that lets users of the iPhone and iPad browse and look at specs on any Jaguar in the lineup and — naturally — share that information on Facebook, Twitter, or by saving it to the iPhone photo gallery.
An interactive iPad version of Jaguar Magazine is also available, and the 75th-anniversary issue is free on iTunes.
