    Just the Facts:
    • Guns N' Roses front man Axl Rose is being charged with damaging a leased Flying Spur.
    • TMZ.com reports the rocker also owes nearly $75,000 in payments on the car.
    • Additionally, the Bentley was driven more than 42,000 more miles than were allowed by the lease.

LOS ANGELES — Bentley is suing rocker Axl Rose of the band Guns N' Roses for damaging and failing to make payments on a leased 2006 Continental Flying Spur. The lawsuit pits the rock star against Bentley Financial Services, which claims the car was returned late with serious damage. It also claims Rose owes $73,976.42 in lease payments and fees on the $192,000 car.

The court action was reported by gossip Web site TMZ.com which said the car was returned with a cracked windshield, two dented doors, a "gouged" bumper and other damage, plus missing keys. It also said he had driven more than 42,000 more miles than were allowed by the lease.

This is not Rose's first run-in with Los Angeles Superior Court; in March, the Los Angeles Times reported that Front Line Management sued him for $1.8 million in what it said were unpaid management commissions for performances overseas.

The CEO of our company leases his vehicles, and he's one of the most financially savvy men I've ever met. He treats them as toys and trades them in every few years. He invests the savings from only financing the part of the vehicle that he uses. Of course his vehicles while expensive are 1/2-1/3 the cost of a Silver Spur.

Although a toy like an SS obviously raises some questions, not every high income person who leases is perpetrating an image or financially foolish.

Chinese Democracy is still pretty fresh.  Last few years I think.

Why lease it if you can afford to buy?  It sounds as though he really sucks as a driver, or drives under the influence.  Has G'N'R done much of anything since the early '90s?

He still has to have a ton of money? Not necessarily, especially if he is like other stars who manage to spend millions more than they make. Look at...MC Hammer, Michael Jackson (who was on the verge of bankruptcy at death, but hubris, and bad advice caused him to avoid acknowledging it at all costs) Nick Cage is close to bankruptcy.

The universal laws of finance apply to all - spend more than you earn and you will be broke.

It's not about ownership; it's about the disillusionment of excess wealth. The goal is to impress the shallow and vain with the latest toys.

Of course; it won't be long before these rockstars and rappers become the broke hasbeens featured on Rock/Flavor or Love.

He's still got to have a poop-ton of money. I know famous people like to get a new car every couple years, but why not just buy the dang thing then sell it when you're done.

Who wants a car/lease payment when you can pay cash for it??
