BEIJING — The Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed China, which debuted on Thursday at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show, may not sit well with Bentley purists. The special model, tweaked for the China market, features a toned-down exhaust note and a softer ride.
It is one of two special models rolled out by Bentley to appeal to its growing customer base here. The other equally controversial model, the Bentley Continental GT Design Series China, makes liberal use of orange and magenta paint.
Bentley describes the changes for the Flying Spur Speed China as "engineering upgrades developed for the Chinese market." In the case of the exhaust note, Bentley explains that the car's performance is "balanced with greater refinement through the retuning of the exhaust to produce a quieter note." In the case of the suspension, the automaker has developed a "comfort suspension setting."
As you might expect, there is plenty of special Speed China badging on the Continental Flying Spur Speed China. Another unusual touch is a special display case for the ignition key, which apparently has attained the status of art in this market. As a final flourish, Bentley has added custom leather cushions for rear passengers.
Inside Line says: Fortunately, Bentley stopped short of providing crocheted tissue holders for the rear parcel shelf on this special model. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent

Looks like an American luxury car from the 70's with that style of detailing (loose pillows, badges on the C-panels, etc.) I vote that they should have called it the "Bentley Flying Spur Regency Custom Landau Brougham LTD VIP DLP Limited DeLuxe"....LOL. Suddenly it's 1977 again.

I guess Bently can be more expensive if they put a Hollywood sticker on the door handle....

So is Bentley going to build an Speed Japan series with a fridge to store sushi or India series with Hindu shrine in the back, or how about Power Russia series with side pockets for mafia to hide their AK47.
Bentley has cheapen their brand by doing this.
