What's New for 2012: All Makes

2012 Bentley Continental Flying Spur: Bentley has added the Series 51 model to the Continental Flying Spur lineup for 2012. Aimed at customers who want both a bespoke look and the sage counsel of Bentley's design team, the Flying Spur Series 51 lets you choose from a pre-approved list of two-tone exterior paint jobs and three-tone interior color schemes. Series 51 sedans also feature distinct 19-inch graphite-finish alloy wheels. In other news, all 2012 Continental Flying Spurs get a new audio-navigation system that uses map data from both a DVD drive and a 30GB hard drive (of which 15GB is available for your personal music storage), and has an 8-inch touchscreen display.

2012 Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed: For 2012, the Flying Spur Speed gets a new audio-navigation system that uses map data from both a DVD drive and a 30GB hard drive, and has an 8-inch touchscreen display.

2012 Bentley Continental GT: It's not exactly a ground-up redesign, but 2012 marks the dawn of the second-generation Bentley Continental GT coupe (though it went on sale as a 2011 model in Europe). The big coupe has new bodywork and sits on a wider track this year, but it's a lighter-weight package thanks to the use of aluminum suspension parts along with a new seat design. For motivation, there's Bentley's twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 engine, which edges up to 567 horsepower. The W12 is still paired up with the six-speed automatic transmission, but the transmission has revised shift logic this year and it's driving all four wheels through an upgraded all-wheel-drive system with a more dynamic 60/40 rear torque bias. In addition, Bentley will unveil a more fuel-efficient Continental GT with a 550-hp twin-turbocharged and direct-injected 4.0-liter V8 engine at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. Inside, the 2012 Continental GT features a new audio-navigation system with a 30GB hard drive and an 8-inch touchscreen. An eight-speaker stereo is standard, but Bentley intends for you to allocate extra money toward the optional 11-speaker system designed by the British company Naim.

2012 Bentley Continental GT Speed: Since the Continental GT is fresh off a redesign, the Speed version is on hiatus for 2012.

2012 Bentley Continental GTC: The Continental GTC is redesigned for 2012 and features the same weight-reduction measures as the Continental GT coupe. As before, the GTC has a power-operated cloth convertible top, and this year, Bentley has added a neck warmer feature to the seats so you can extend the top-down driving season further into the fall. Bentley's twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 engine returns to the second-generation Continental convertible, and as in the coupe, it makes 567 hp and 516 pound-feet of torque. It's paired with a six-speed automatic transmission that drives all four wheels through a revised AWD system that biases 60 percent of engine torque to the rear wheels.

2012 Bentley Continental GTC Speed: The Speed version of the Continental GTC is on hiatus for 2012.

2012 Bentley Continental Supersports: Since the Continental GT is fresh off a redesign, the Supersports coupe is on hiatus for 2012.

2012 Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible: Bentley's Continental Supersports convertible carries on in the old body style for 2012. A new audio-navigation interface is standard on all Supersports convertibles; it uses map data from both a DVD drive and a 30GB hard drive and has an 8-inch touchscreen display. In addition, Bentley is offering an even more limited-edition version of this limited-edition model: The company is building 100 examples (for worldwide consumption) of the Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible ISR. That's ISR, as in Ice Speed Record, for these special Supersports convertibles commemorate the 205.48-mph speed record Juha Kankkunen set on the frozen Baltic Sea in February 2011. The ISR comes with Arctica White, Beluga or Quarzite exterior paint, and has a Dark Grey Metallic-hued soft top (special twill fibers are woven in to create the metallic look) and 20-inch wheels with a darker finish than other Supersports convertibles. By selecting a no-cost Mulliner design package, you can have these wheels in red and get flashy ISR graphics down the side of the car. Inside, ISR models are distinguished by their red-accented carbon-fiber dash trim, the red piping on their seats and a small explosion of contrasting red stitching.

2012 Bentley Mulsanne: Bentley has made no changes to the Mulsanne for 2012.
