FT. LAUDERDALE, Florida — A 1996 Bentley Azure, owned by media mogul Oprah Winfrey — dubbed by many as the most influential woman in the world — is for sale on eBay until this evening at 6:33 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. The asking bid is $67,900 to "buy it now." No other bids have been made.
Winfrey purchased the Bentley new for $335,000 from Braman Motors in Miami in early February 1996. It now has just over 49,000 miles on it.
"The salesman who sold it to her is a friend and he said she came in on her (42) birthday with her pal, Gayle King, and said she was buying herself a birthday present," explained Mark Scarincio, owner of Boulevard Auto in Ft. Lauderdale, who listed the vehicle on eBay. He spoke to Inside Line in a phone conversation on Monday.
Oprah babied the soft top convertible. The black paint is in pristine condition, as is the interior, a sea of parchment white leather that pops with black piping and lambswool rugs. It's also got heated seats, chrome wheels, an Alpine stereo and, in true Oprah fashion, power everything.
According to the title, the vehicle spent time in Beverly Hills, California, and has had two other owners, including Boulevard Auto Sales, which put the vehicle on eBay.
Boulevard is screening bidders on the 1996 Bentley Azure to avoid any "joy bidders," who drive the cost of the car up without ever intending to purchase it.
"I figure some husband could be a big hero if he bought this vehicle for his wife since it belonged to Oprah," Scarincio said.

Are you kids trying to make fat jokes? Really?
That's so lame I feel like sending you to the principal's office. Sheesh!
So much for this being a forum for 'car buffs' - at least with your tabloid comments.

Hmmmm. Tempting.
Does anyone happen to know how much it would cost to replace the stuffing in a Bentley's driver's seat?

At least it'd weigh less.
