2009 Shanghai Auto Show
Is it Auto Shanghai, or the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition? How about we just call it the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show for now? If you're not familiar, this is China's other major international auto show, alternating each year with the Beijing auto show.
Now considered one of the world's premier auto shows thanks to the growth of the Chinese automotive industry, Shanghai will host a number of important debuts this year. Chief among them will be the world premiere of the 2010 Porsche Panamera sedan. A controversial addition to Porsche's lineup, the Panamera will compete in the low six-figure range with sedans like the Maserati Quattroporte and Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG.
Of course, the vast majority of the cars at the show will be homegrown models. Look for additional debuts from Brilliance, BYD, Changfeng, Chery, Dongfeng, FAW, Geely, Great Wall, JAC and SAIC.
