2005 Detroit Auto Show
There's a bumper sticker that sums up Detroit as "Cars, Bars and a Few Weirdos." It's not only an apt description, it explains why Detroit is the perfect place to host one of the biggest and best auto shows in the world.
Our Detroit show coverage stayed clear of the weirdos, but there were plenty of cars to talk about, and more than enough bars to talk about them in. This year's conversations revolved around the latest from the Big Three, but there were plenty of foreigners who got their fair share of the attention. With roughly 35 new cars and trucks making their worldwide debuts, it's easy to overlook a vehicle here and there, but there were a few highlights you won't want to miss.
Performance fans will want to check out the all-new Z06 Corvette, the LF-A concept from Lexus and the return of the Hemi-powered Dodge Charger. If you're a sport-ute fan there's plenty to see in the form of the new Mercedes-Benz M-Class, Jeep Gladiator concept and the Range Rover Sport. If it's a sedan you're looking for, there are plenty of those too with cars like the Ford Fusion, Toyota Avalon and Saturn's new Aura concept on display for the first time.
Whatever you're interested in, we have it all covered with comprehensive articles and plenty of photos and videos straight from the show floor.
