DETROIT — The world's automakers must think the World Wide Web has turned into a leaky cauldron, what with all the pre-Detroit images that keep popping up. The latest purveyor of purloined photos is the Spanish Web site motorpasion.com, which Tuesday posted pre-embargo images of the Audi TTS coupe and convertible, which are supposed to be officially introduced until next week.
Among the few published details on the car is word that the engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter TFSI making 272 horsepower.
There are a few cosmetic changes, notably to bumpers, grille, headlamps and wheels. The interior will be offered in several shades of leather, including a rich, earthy brown.
The TTS coupe and convertible are expected to go on sale this fall as 2009 models.
What this means to you: A nice adjunct to the standard TT, providing more punch and visual pizzazz. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
