Only 300 units of the RS 4 Cabriolet are bound for the U.S. It is equipped with the same 420-horsepower 4.2-liter V8 FSI engine that's in the RS 4 sedan. The engine delivers 317 pound-feet of torque at 5,500 rpm. The Cabriolet will only be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive. It gets 19-inch RS 4-style alloy wheels and a sport-tuned suspension. The 2008 Audi RS 4 sedan starts at $67,685, including a $775 destination charge.
At the same time, Audi said the 2008 RS 4 sedan will get two new option packages. A $750 Titanium package includes 19-inch RS 4-style alloy wheels, a black front grille, black side window moldings, black headliner and piano black interior trim. A $3,800 Audi "exclusive" package includes crimson red leather seat centers and door trim, red seat piping and red stitching on the shift boot and steering wheel. It also gets piano black interior trim and carpeted floor mats with the RS 4 logo. In addition, Sirius Satellite Radio and a Bluetooth hands-free phone system will become standard equipment on the sedan.
What this means to you: Short supply and strong demand. Keep that in mind as you ponder whether to spring for the 2008 Audi RS 4 Cabriolet.
