Audi Pulls Back the Curtain on 414-hp RS4 Super Sedan

Geneva — Audi has released official photos and specifications of its new RS4 sport sedan that will debut at Geneva next week. Building on the already potent S4 sedan, the RS4 is an even more powerful four-door that uses Audi's latest technology to deliver world-beating performance.

At the heart of the RS4's numerous upgrades is a 414-hp version of Audi's 4.2-liter V8. Not only does it boast 74 more horsepower than the standard S4, it also features a lofty 8,250-rpm redline.

A six-speed manual is standard along with Audi's latest Quattro all-wheel drive system complete with a locking Torsen center differential. Larger brakes, a reprogrammed stability control system and unique wheels are also part of the package.

Visual cues to the pedigree of this super sedan include more aggressive bodywork, a wider front and rear track and a unique set of larger wheels and tires.

The interior features lightweight sport seats with inflatable side bolsters and a console starter button. The steering wheel looks like it was pulled straight out of Audi's LeMans car and it functions like one too thanks to a finger tip sport button that can be used to sharpen up the throttle response.

What this means to you: This could be the sweetest mix of American muscle car philosophy and European styling sensibilities since the 500E. Forget about waiting around for that M3 sedan, it will have nothing on the RS4.
