    Just the Facts:
    • Abt Sportsline tunes the Audi R8 V10 for 620 horsepower.
    • The German tuner also reduces the Audi supercar's weight by 220 pounds.
    • Abt plans to build only 25 units of its R8 GT R.

GENEVA — Abt Sportsline has an exclusive tuning treatment for the Audi R8 V10 that adds an impressive 95 hp to the stock R8.

Officially called the Abt R8 GT R, the vehicle is loaded with 620 hp. Performance enhancements include a sports exhaust system, a suspension with adjustable dampers and a ceramic brake system with upgraded brake pads. Thanks to those modifications, the Abt R8 now sprints to 60 mph in less than 3.2 seconds (down from 3.9 seconds) and tops out at an impressive 201 mph.

The tuner cut weight with the use of a carbon-fiber hood, front and rear bumpers, adjustable rear wing, mirrors, door panels and even the trim outline on the rear end. The side windows are made of a lightweight polycarbonate called Makrolon. The look is finished off with a set of 19-inch Abt CR Superlight wheels wrapped in Michelin Sport Cup tires.

Interior goodies include Recaro racing seats, a four-point seatbelt system, a stainless steel roll bar, a handheld fire extinguisher and an Abt steering wheel made of carbon fiber. The tuner will also throw in a pair of Abt driver overalls, a helmet, racing shoes and gloves.

Abt plans to build only 25 units of its R8 GT R.

Driving around in this car would make me feel like a tool. Big wing + R badge? Classic "ricer" maneuver, even if the wing is effective and the R badge actually means increased performance.

    I'll take a stock R8 V10, please. :)
