- Some of the modifications include an Eaton/Magnusson supercharger, independent charge cooling system and an ECU remap.
- The vehicle now sprints to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds — 0.8 seconds better than the vehicle from the factory.
- A new braking package, lowering springs and 20-inch wheels are also installed.
SUMMIT POINT, West Virginia — The American tuner STaSIS Engineering has unveiled a special edition of the Audi R8 V8 that is equipped with a supercharger and plenty of go-fast modifications.
For starters, the company bolts on an Eaton/Magnusson TVS 1900 blower running 7.5 psi of boost. Combine that with an independent charge cooling system and an ECU remap, and you have an R8 V10 producing 540 horsepower and 435 pound-feet of torque.
STaSIS says the modifications help the vehicle complete the 0-60 mph sprint in just 3.6 seconds — 0.8 second better than the stock midengine sports car.
A larger-diameter 3.0-inch TIG welded stainless-steel exhaust helps reduce back pressure and bump output, while Alcon 15.3-inch front and 14-inch rear brakes provide the necessary stopping power. The tuner also installed a set of lowering springs to improve the stance while making sure Audi's Drive Select system was unaffected. A set of 20-inch lightweight alloys finishes off the package.
STaSIS says the individual parts and complete package will be available to customers through its U.K. importer APS of Brackley. The whole package will run owners $44,995.
Check out the STaSIS Web site for more details.

rather the v-10.

quite honestly, these are the power figures that the V10 should be producing, and the V8 should be where the V10 is now. if there ever was a flaw with this car, its that the engines are relatively torque-less

For sure a V8. Look at the pipes, besides that gmhl10 is right, that TVS blower would put out more than that.

It's the R8 V8... the V10 has 525 hp and I've never seen a supercharger only give a 15hp (less than 3%) bump before with 7 psi.
But yea... the editor needs to do a better job before letting this post.
For a performance tuner like Stasis... why are they upgrading to 20" wheels???
First off, there's a horrible performance tire selection with 20" wheels.
Just to fit in the larger brakes? Why do they want more rotational mass?
If it's that great, why don't they post 60-0 and 100-0 stop times?
The R8 stock BBK was just as good. Slap in some slotted rotors and track pads and call it a day.
Why stainless steel exhaust? Should've probably gone titanium to create a better front/rear weight bias since the car's more rear heavy.
It just seems like all this extra power is really just to offset the other crap that they're doing.
Sure, a 0-60 improvement of 0.8 sec is great, but it could've been even faster.
Too bad there's not a definitive way to prove if handling has gotten better with data.
It's a sad trend that many tuners are going for form > function. =(
But, it's probably because that's what the masses are wanting. =( x 2

First it says R8 V10, then says R8 V8.... which is it?
