Audi's pricing strategy on its first clean diesel for the U.S. market carefully slots the SUV right in between its two chief diesel competitors, the 2009 Mercedes-Benz M320 Bluetec and the 2009 BMW X5 35d.
The ML 320 Bluetec starts at $48,125, including an $875 destination charge. The turbodiesel BMW X5 35d starts at $52,025, including an $825 destination charge.
Audi noted that buyers of the Q7 TDI also qualify for the Internal Revenue Service's $1,150 Alternative Motor Vehicle Tax Credit.
