Audi Springs a Surprise With Brief Q7 Reveal

    0 Ratings
INGOLSTADT, Germany — Audi's new Q7 SUV, due next year, made a brief surprise appearance (under a false grille badge) at a special event at the Audi Forum here, to mark the 25th anniversary of the quattro four-wheel-drive system.

The Q7 is the production version of the Pikes Peak quattro design study first shown at the Frankfurt show in 2003. It will be available at the start of 2006.

Until it makes its international exhibition debut at the Frankfurt show this September, all further appearances of the Q7 will take place exclusively behind closed doors. It won't be at the Geneva show next week. Over the next few months, Q7 prototypes will be undergoing intensive tests in the toughest conditions imaginable, including Arctic regions and burning deserts.

What this means to you: If you like Audi's sense of style and gorgeous cabins but need the utility of an SUV, forget the allroad, the Q7 is on its way.
