KEMPTEN, Germany — German tuner Abt Sportsline has unveiled a modification package for the 2012 Audi Q3.
The tuner has performance upgrade options for the Q3 equipped with either the 2.0-liter TSI or 2.0-liter TDI power plant.
Starting with the 2.0-liter TSI that rolls out of the factory with 168 horsepower, Abt reflashes the ECU to bring output to 207 horses. The higher-performance 2.0-liter TSI engine with 208 hp is upped to 247 hp. For the 2.0-liter TDI diesel variants, output is increased to 168 hp for the 138-hp version, while the 175-hp engine is upgraded to lay down 192 hp.
To give a more aggressive look to the exterior, the tuner is offering a body kit that includes a revised front grille and lip, side skirts, rear wing, bumper and new exhaust tips. Alloy wheels in sizes ranging from 18-20 inches finish off the new look.
Inside Line says: Abt lets you squeeze a little more power out of your Q3 with these available performance packages.

It's amazing how nowadays 3rd party tunes for VAG cars don't make nearly as much power as they used to. APR used to make massive amounts of power gain, but because you can't mess around the ECU through the OBDII port (if you do, the ECU dies). VAG is really locking out the aftermarket anymore...

If I recall, it doesn't really matter what Abt offers for the Q3 because the US market will not get the Q3.

Your problem is that you are not listening to the marketing folks when they tell you what you need.
Remember, you are not buying a car, you are buying a lifestyle...or a load of BS. I forget which.

I dislike the entire Q lineup. Why add a Q3? Does the US really like the micro SUVs? I don't see how they are sporty or have utility at that size.
Really a 3 series or an A4 avant would be more sporty and utilitarian.
