Audi Nuvolari Concept
What's Special About It?
The striking shape is the first thing that grabs you about the Nuvolari concept. Looking somewhat like a grown-up TT coupe, the Nuvolari incorporates the large center grille section which first appeared on the Rosemeyer concept shown several years ago. The nose blends into large wheel flares reminiscent of the current RS6 in addition to the character lines that extend the length of the car. The rear of the car has a smooth, compact design similar to the A4 Cabrio although the prominent exhaust pipes add a bit of concept-car flair. The interior features an equally uncomplicated design highlighted by Audi's new multimedia interface control at the center of the middle console. A dynamic design wouldn't mean much of course if there's nothing to back it up under the hood and the Nuvolari suffers from no such deficiency. Its twin-turbo, 5.0-liter V10 develops an impressive 600 horsepower with Audi projecting a 0-to-60 time of just 4.1 seconds.
Why Should You Care?
The Nuvolari's glamorous show-car body should give way to a slightly less dramatic production coupe in the very near future. The jeweled headlights and twin-turbo V10 aren't likely to make the production version but Audi has more than enough suitable engines to make a production coupe that will fulfill the Nuvolari's promise of stunning performance.
