2008 Chicago Auto Show: Audi A4 Special Edition

CHICAGO — Audi is introducing special editions of its 2008 A4 sedan and wagon to tide it over until the redesigned 2009 A4 reaches U.S. showrooms in October.

The A4 Special Edition, available on models fitted with the 2.0 TSFI engine, includes 17-inch, nine-spoke wheels and, on Quattro variants, metallic paint and heated leather front seats — a $405 value on front-wheel-drive cars and a $1,155 value on all-wheel-drive models.

Audi says customers can still opt for the A4 Titanium and S line packages, as well as individual options, on Special Edition models.

The A4 Special Edition sedan and Avant are expected to hit dealerships in mid-March.

What this means to you: If you can't wait for the '09 A4, at least you can save a little money on the last of the '08s. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
