- The German tuning house boosts output on Audi's baby to 154 horsepower.
- Torque climbs to 184 pound-feet.
- The conversion in Europe starts at just over $6,000.
INGELHEIM, Germany — Senner Tuning, which tweaks a variety of products in Europe from Ford to Ferrari, but normally focuses on Audi, has put the wrench to the subcompact Audi A1. The results, to say the least, are imposing.
Senner takes the A1's stock 1.4-liter turbo FSI engine, replaces the air filter, reprograms the ECU and fits a stainless-steel exhaust system, among other mods, nudging output from 121 to 154 horsepower and torque from 148 to 184 pound-feet — reasonable enough figures for a hot hatch that weighs only 2,400 pounds.
A set of sport springs drops ride height by 1.4 inches. Senner mounts a set of Hankook S1 Evo tires on 18-inch Corniche Monza black polished rims.
The initial stage of tune costs European customers just over $6,000. Senner also can install adjustable coil-overs, carbon-fiber trim and LED taillamps, among other enhancements. Prices are available on request.

Most of the comments posted here make fun of how this car looks and say they are glad this car isnt (yet) coming to the USA. YOU FELLOW AMERICANS ARE KIDDING YOURSELVES. This car looks 10x better than any other car that would be in its class. The honda fit/mazda 2/ford fiesta/chevy aveo, etc etc...All of those cars are so butt ugly compared to this car. That's just talking about appearances. Once you start comparing the interiors and then the actual engines, its even more of a joke. This car would whip the competition. Granted it would be the most $, but it would be worth it. The only close competitor would be another sub compact from the same company, the VW Polo. Another car that should be sold in the U.S. Cmon VW and Audi, just because gas prices are twice as much in Eurpose doesn't mean that Americans aren't tired of paying $4/gallon. Then to get upwards of 35 mpg hwy, you have to drive a glorified roller skate, that barely has enough power to merge on to a highway. Not all Americans want to drive boring camrys, corollas, or accords. Please for the sake of the rest of us, start selling the A1, polo, and other smaller cars that actually have some personality, style, and power.

@jscion
Actually it is already on this side of the pond,
they are selling it in Mexico where subcompacts are very popular.

Nice upgrade for the engine, but they forgot to upgrade the brakes.

$6,000 for this?? What a joke. That's a healthy (and I'm sure quite fun) gain in power, but 6 grand for a I/T/E, lowering springs, and cheap looking wheels is absurd.
