COPENHAGEN, Denmark — HBH, the Danish design and engineering consultancy, wants to build you an exclusive supercar — a one-off midengine creation based on the Aston Martin V12 Vantage.
The principals at HBH are Jesper Hermann, Christian Brandt and Torben Hartvig. They previously have worked on such design projects as the Sondergard, the Corvette-based Zenvo ST1 and the Kleemann GTK and S-CK.
Their latest effort, teased this week on their Web site, is simply labeled "New one-off supercar."
According to the Web site Classic Driver, the Aston-based midengine project is the first in a series of one-off supercars planned by HBH.
For the initial project, Hartvig told Classic Driver, "We wanted to create a tribute to Aston Martin, unifying the timeless beauty of the road cars with the full-blooded racing pedigree of the LMP1 Le Mans racecars . . . but at the same time, from a styling viewpoint, in complete harmony with Aston Martin's design heritage."
HBH is building the car around Aston's 6.0-liter V12. They intend to fit twin superchargers to the engine, as the factory did some years back on the 1997 Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
Accoding to Classic Driver, the partners have begun discussions with prospective clients, with an eye toward building and delivering their dream car some time in 2012.
Inside Line says: The limited-edition Zenvo's $1-million-plus price tag should give you some idea of the potential sticker on this one.

By "based on", do they mean "inspired by"??????
I don't see how you can convert the Aston to ME unless you melt it back to raw steel and start anew.

if they're only going to make one... why bother in the first place.

If it's going to be mid-engine, why would they start with a vantage (assuming they mean mid-engine behind the driver)?
