GAYDON, England — Aston Martin said it will begin testing its new V12 Vantage GT3 racecar this fall, with the first customer deliveries to begin in early 2012. The successor to Aston's successful DBRS9 will be priced from $487,725.
The Vantage GT3 will be powered by a modified version of the company's production 6.0-liter V12, tuned to deliver around 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. It will send power to the rear wheels through a lightweight carbon-fiber driveshaft and an Xtrac six-speed sequential racing gearbox with semiautomatic paddle-shift gearchange.
In addition to a functional aerodynamics package and adjustable steering, seat and pedals, the Vantage GT3 features race-developed ABS and traction-control systems, racing clutch, limited-slip differential and 18-inch racing tires.
Aston said the new Vantage GT3 will be eligible for numerous racing series around the world, including the FIA GT3 Championship, ADAC Masters, Nürburgring VLN, Blancpain Endurance Series, British GT, Belcar and Open GT, among others.
Inside Line says: Aston says it has sold 24 DBRS9s over the past six years and is the only manufacturer to offer a racecar for every GT class.

If only I were rich - man this is beautiful.
I'm a believer in driving nice high performance cars, but I could understand putting this in a climate controlled garage.
