GENEVA — Aston Martin rolls out the new DBS Volante next week at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show. It is the British automaker's 16th convertible in 95 years.
The DBS Volante boasts a motorized fabric top that retracts in 14 seconds, at speeds up to 30 mph, and stows beneath a new tonneau cover.
The DBS Volante is powered by Aston's superb 6.0-liter V12, which delivers 510 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. Mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox, the Volante rockets from zero to 60 mph in less than 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 191 mph. A six-speed automatic with manual shift capability is optional.
Other features include carbon-ceramic brakes; carbon fiber hood, deck lid and front fenders; and a Bang & Olufsen BeoSound DBS premium audio system.
Aston Martin expects to begin shipping the DBS Volante in the third quarter and will announce prices next week in Geneva.
