Double-oh-Seven Crashes an Aston Martin DBS, But This Time It's in the Script

CARRARA, Italy — Another Aston Martin DBS was totaled during filming of the upcoming 007 movie Quantum of Solace, except this time it was intentional. The movie has already lost a $265,000 DBS to Lake Garda and an Alfa Romeo to a wall, when the driver lost control on the twisty lakeside roads.

MI6.co.uk, a Web site that keeps the public up to date with the world of James Bond, reports that the scene will have Agent 007 crash his Aston Martin into a generations-old marble quarry in Fantiscritti. Work was put on hold for a day while the Bond squad was filming in this famous quarry, where Michelangelo is reported to have gathered the materials from which he sculpted his iconic David statue.

The pre-credits action shot on the banks of Lake Garda will include Bond being chased by villains in Alfa Romeos and concludes with the devastating quarry accident.

Quantum of Solace is scheduled to be released on November 7. It features Casino Royale star Daniel Craig with Ukrainian model Olga Kurylenko by his side.

What this means to you: Even if it was James Bond driving, a wrecked Aston Martin is always a sad sight to see. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
