Aston Martin Teams with Bang & Olufsen for DBS Sound System

GAYDON, England — Aston Martin and Bang & Olufsen have partnered to create an audio system that is not only loaded with technology, but also seamlessly integrates into the luxurious interior of 007's DBS.

The BeoSound DBS audio system features 13 speakers — five tweeters, five midrange speakers and three woofers — in ten locations around the car. Two of the tweeter units are motorized and programmed to rise when the car is started, giving the high frequencies "180 degrees of horizontal dispersion." The exposed loudspeaker grilles are finished in smoothly contoured aluminum, which does not interrupt the sleek look of the DBS interior.

"We are proud to present the first unique audio system of our collaboration with Aston Martin. BeoSound DBS is a high-quality, high-performance system for a remarkable performance car," says Karl Nielsen, president and chief executive officer of Bang & Olufsen.

B&O utilizes its Digital Signal Processing unit to control the system, which automatically adjusts to changing acoustic environments to give you the best listening experience possible.

What this means to you: Even this mighty B&O audio system may have trouble drowning out the roar of the DBS's V12 at 6,500 rpm. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
