Called the BeoSound DB9, the audio system aims to mimic the luxury and style of the DB9 with contoured aluminum speaker grilles and superior sound quality. Turning on the stereo activates motorized tweeters that emerge from the dashboard. The system also uses five midrange speakers, three additional tweeters and three subwoofers, including an 8-inch unit under the rear bench. That's a total of 13 speakers placed in 10 different locations.
The BeoSound system is acoustically tuned by Bang & Olufsen's tone meisters and the Digital Signal Processing team to ensure that the speakers are placed properly for the best listening experience. The DB9 Volante has even been tuned differently from the coupe, to ensure that sound quality is optimized for the convertible. The BeoSound DB9 stereo is now available as an option.
Inside Line says: The V12 will still produce better sound than the stereo. — Eric Tingwall, Correspondent
