Tuner Special: Mansory DB9 Volante

    1 Rating
FICHTELGEBIRGE, Germany — Car customizer Mansory has been tuning British luxury cars for years, and its past offerings include Bentleys and Rolls-Royces. So it's only fitting that Mansory has set to work on the Aston Martin DB9 Volante.

Even when modifying high-performance exotics, subtle can be a good thing, and Mansory realizes this better than anyone. The already sleek exterior of the Volante is modified with an understated body kit, complete with front, rear and side skirts, as well as a spoiler and air intakes.

The inside is a mix of leather, wood and carbon fiber. Other additions include special brakes custom-made by Brembo, sport springs, a sport muffler and 20-inch diamond-polished rims.

Mansory is being ultra-secretive about the Volante's performance upgrades, and the company's Web site says details will be "coming soon." Judging by the modifications so far, it should be interesting to see what is in store for under the hood.

What this means to you: Although the DB9 is already one of the most elegant convertibles in the world, Mansory proves there's always room for improvement. We'll have to wait a little longer to see if the magic under the hood matches the exterior. — Paul Tassi, Correspondent
