    What Is It?

    What's Special About It?
Aston Martin hopes to excite American roadster freaks by unveiling a new concept car based on the venerable DB7 Vantage Volante. The two-seat rag top convertible sports an aluminum body from Zagato, the Italian design house, and is powered by the Volante's V12 engine kicked up from the standard 420 horsepower to 435. The rear fenders are heftier than the Volante's, giving the car a more solid stance with smooth side panels. The short-tailed body has a rear fairing which covers the area that houses the rear jump seats. The back end is simpler than the Volante's, with single round taillights on each side and wide exhaust tips just visible beneath an integrated rear bumper. The distinguished Aston Martin badge is centrally positioned underneath a brake light tucked beneath a small spoiler. If this concept design ignites enough interest from the driving public Aston Martin plans to hand-build the roadster at the Bloxham plant in England where the DB7 is made. No pricing information was released, but "hand-built" roadsters from the esteemed carmaker are likely to cost even more than the $146,000-$156,000 DB7 Vantage Volante.

    Why Should You Care?
