2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon Coming Next Fall

    8 Ratings

TORRANCE, California — Honda has announced that the Acura TSX sport sedan will get a sport wagon variant. The new wagon will go on sale in the U.S. in the fall of 2010 as a 2011 model, Acura said.

Pricing and other details were not announced.

The 2010 TSX sedan has a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 280 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of torque, mated to a Sequential SportShift five-speed automatic transmission, along with 18-inch wheels and a revised suspension to target it toward the "performance-oriented luxury buyer." There's also a 201-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine available.

I'm looking forward to shopping this as I'm in the market for something bigger than the A4 Avant and 3 series wagon, handles (and looks) better than a Subara and that has better reliability and more motor than a Passat.

Very compelling -- and I'd seriously look at this in a diesel or hybrid as well.

I am driving an A4 Avant and I was a two time Accord owner.
The only reason for me to switch to Audi is simply because I want an AWD Wagon which can give me safe drives for weekly snowboarding.
As much as I like my A4, I hate the maintenance as hell. It's freaking expensive and I missed my time with my accords while maintenances were relatively nothing.
Now as they are bringing in the Tourer, if they are going to put AWD on it, I am a buyer (maybe in a few years to get it used). If they put the Diesel engine in + AWD, I am getting it brand new! Acura/Honda you BETTER put both into the TSX. I freaking hate the look of Accord Crosstour and its inability to hold roof racks!

How about a 4 cylinder turbo gas/hybrid or a diesel with a 6 on the floor and AWD. The closest thing I've seen so far is an A4, but I'd prefer to stick with Acura. Can't we have a car that is fun to drive and green at the same time? I don't think that is asking too much. The CRZ looks nice, but Honda is going to kill it with a CVT and front wheel drive. Why bother?

6 Speed manual, AWD or RWD, 30mpg city and 40mpg hwy, and I'm a buyer. Room for 4 or 5 adults would be nice.

Acura - are you listening?  You have a simply great diesel engine (2.2 litre common rail), and now it is in an S version with 280 ft/lbs of torque at around 1800 rpm.  You also have a new 6 speed automatic transmission you are using in the ZDX, and that should handle the torque of the diesel (which doesn't need urea additives!)  If you are going to do a sportwagen, use that drivetrain combination and add some Recaro seats with thigh extensions for long legged Americans.  While you are at it, modify the driver's seat track and add 2 more inches there.  Now - what do you have?  You have a bullet proof reliable (your strongest suite) sporty wagon that gets 32 mpg city/42 mpg hwy with a 8.5 second 0-60 time.  But it handles!  It is not Toyota dead feel!  Who needs an A4 Avant?  An A6 Avant?  An E320W?  A 535D Tourer?  No sir - not at those prices!
Estimated $45k - $65k +.  Common guys - roll the dice - and help the US solve it's energy problems at the same time!   I can understand if you don't have engine capacity right now, and mating the diesel to the 6 speed auto and certifying it for the US is expensive, but you should be able to bring it in by spreading the costs over both lines (Honda and Acura) at around $40k.  Torque/economy/handling/adequate acceleration/AND ABSOLUTE ACURA QUALITY AND RELIABILITY!
    Can I get a witness?

Bump up the size and base it off of the TL. If Honda would've just done it right in the first place, the Crosstour would've made a great wagon (instead of the failure it'll be)!

This is one wagon I wouldn't mind driving.  Unlike some here, I REALLY like the new face of Acura, its bold, in your face, and daring.  The only Acura that I think just doesn't work styling wise is the 2010 RDX, surpisingly though the RDX is the most fun to drive Acura thats availible, go figure.  Anyone who say the "old" Acura's look better than the new ones is drunk.  I went to the Acura dealer and saw the new TL and a 08 TL parked side by side, you might as well had parked a Camry next to the new TL because that just how dated it made the 08 look it's really that dramatic.  I don't care what anyone say's Acura's grills are just fine by me!  BMW, Lexus, and Audi IMO all have plain and boring designs(w/ the exception of the BMW X-6 M, and Audi R8 that I truly love).  All of those companies seem scared to change anything, Lexus has had the same bland, boring, and dated look its entire 20 year history, and so has Audi for the most part.  The 3 series looks like its had one mid cycle update in the past 10 years.  Good on you Acura for taking a chance and being different, I love it!  What happend to "A-spec" and "Type S"? I hate having to wait until the end of an Acura's model year to get a special version, I think they should be introduced with A-Spec or Type S first year out.  But I love this wagon, give me a 6spdm with either a turbo 4 or 3.5L 6 w/SH-AWD and I'd be happy.  Would love to see it with the diesel more than either gas engine though, with the mpg advantage, torque, and low cost of diesel fuel now I'm surprised they haven't caught on more.  I'm for the first time considering a diesel for my next purchase, the more research I do on them the more I like them.

Interesting! I wonder what the rear seats will be like... If it's spacious enough, I might cross-shop that with a Flex. (However, there's only a miniscule chance I will not already own a Flex by the time it comes out.)
