Official Photo: 2009 Acura TSX
In the photo the car looks larger than it predecessor. And it looks to have borrowed its door handles from the 2008 Honda Accord. Surprise? Nope. The Acura TSX is the Honda Accord in Europe and Japan.
In all markets, this new version will remain front-wheel drive, and is expected to stick with an aluminum four-cylinder engine backed by either an automatic or manual transmission. We hope the wishbone suspension used in the present TSX makes a return.
Last week at the Chicago auto show, Acura unveiled the new 2009 RL, which wears a similar grille to this new TSX. Apparently we're looking at the new face of Acura and should expect a similar clumsy treatment on the all new TL sedan, which will be shown later this year.
Right, Dick?
"The new 2009 TSX speaks clearly to the direction we are taking our Acura sedans in the future," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president for auto sales.
Man, we're good.
