TORRANCE, California — Acura has announced that its base 2009 TSX will start at $29,675, including a $715 destination charge, when it goes on sale on April 24. The price of the base model reflects a $770 increase over the base 2008 Acura TSX. The base price of the fully loaded 2009 Acura TSX with a Technology Package starts at $32,775, a $1,770 boost over the previous model.

For 2009, the second-generation TSX comes with either a six-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic transmission for no additional charge. The car is equipped with a 201-horsepower 2.4-liter DOHC I-VTEC inline four-cylinder engine.

The TSX with a Technology Package is a full-featured electronics bonanza. Acura bundles the Acura navigation system with voice recognition and rearview camera, the AcuraLink satellite communication system and real-time traffic function with traffic rerouting, AcuraLink weather, a 10-speaker Acura/ELS premium sound system with multiformat six-disc DVD/audio changer and AM/FM tuner, XM Satellite Radio and a GPS-linked, solar-sensing dual-zone automatic climate control system.

What this means to you: Expect to shell out more dough for the redesigned TSX, which promises to be one of Acura's hottest offerings. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
