What's New for 2012: All Makes

2012 Acura MDX: Minor color changes are the only updates to the MDX for 2012.

2012 Acura RDX: Minor color changes are the only updates to the RDX for 2012.

2012 Acura RL: Minor color changes are the only updates to the RL for 2012.

2012 Acura TL: Poor sales forced a midcycle refresh of the TL for the 2012 model year — ahead of schedule by about nine months. There's a new nose that effectively minimizes the "beak" of the 2009-'11 TL. The rear of the car is restyled as well.

There's a new six-speed automatic transmission in both front- and all-wheel-drive TLs. Lower gear ratios on gears one through five (and a taller 6th gear) improve both acceleration and fuel economy.

Minor changes are present inside as well: platinum plating on the center stack and door handles, ventilated front seats, a phone button on the center stack and active phone pairing.

2012 Acura TSX: Minor color changes and a Special Edition model with an aggressive front spoiler, a new rear bumper fascia, unique side sills and a "Special Edition" badge are the only updates to the TSX for 2012.

2012 Acura TSX Sport Wagon: Minor color changes are made to the TSX Sport Wagon for 2012 in addition to the elimination of the spare tire, which is replaced with a compact tire-repair kit. This change dramatically increases underfloor storage.

2012 Acura ZDX: Minor color changes are the only updates to the ZDX for 2012.

The ZDX is horribly impractical.  It has the same space as a TL, but costs $10000-$15000 more.  It's also impossible for anybody over 4.5 feet tall to get into the back of the car without slamming their head into the roof.  It's a really badly designed car that could have been good.

"Acura: What's New for 2012" NOTHING.  How can a major brand not release any new car/truck/suv/crossover models in 2012?  I am a Honda/Acura man that's very disappointed in the direction of the brand in recent years.  Give us something to be excited about....Anything.

Eeeehhhh, it IS such a shame!!!!!  I've always loved Acura, but I haven't been impressed since 2008!!!!  The TL and TLs were sporty, sleek and s*xy....now, they're big, bulky and remind me of something your Grandmother would drive.  PLUS, why is Honda/Acura icksneying all their sports cars?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?  Where's the S2000's, the RSX's and of course the elusive NSX which has been back and forth on the back burner!!!  I have an 88 Honda Prelude that I adore, she still looks sporty and always did excellent around the SCCA tracks....what are they doing?!?!?!?!?!

I do like the ZDX, I think its different and it fits well within the Versa, X6 and Crosstour line.  Its refreshing to see a whole new "type" of car/crossover come out.

Next year are the big changes coming: redesign or RDX next summer and redesign MDX next fall. Also there would be a hybrid option on both. There are already some spy pictures of the RDX.

For the TL; didn't they just have a 'style refreshening' that changed the overall styling?

As for Acura as a whole, I don't think management knows what to do to fix their issues. It's sad; a brand that started well and had the potential to play w/ the luxury big boys is now relegated to making big, boring & ugly cars. Their new sub-TSX model better be a hit; they would be wise to invest a lot of effort into it or they could be in a lot of trouble.

Wow. Amazingly few changes to their lineup for a brand that is struggling. Poor TL. Still the ugly step child.
