This is it, the midcycle refresh of the 2011 Honda Accord. When we saw prototypes running around Death Valley we figured it wouldn't be long before the production version showed up.
Unfortunately, the upgrades on the 2011 Honda Accord coupe and sedan are a little more sedate than we expected. There's no six-speed transmission as we had hope. Instead, Honda changed the gearing of the five-speed automatic to improve mileage. The four-cylinder models are now expected to get EPA ratings of 23 city and 34 highway mpg when equipped with the automatic transmission. The V6 automatic is expected to get 19 city and 30 highway mpg.
That's pretty much it for mechanical upgrades. The rest of the 2011 Accord's changes are styling updates on the exterior and some minor changes to the interior. On the outside there's a new grille, revised bumper, updated wheel design and a new trunk lid. Interior upgrades include shift paddles for V6 coupes and USB ports on all coupes and some sedans. Revised climate controls are also part of this year's upgrades.

Mixed articles on this blog, just bought a coupe exl. I disagree with what has been said. I just toured southern germany with mine, put 1000 miles on it. The stretches of autbahn put it to the test with the bmws and mercedes on the road, mine fllew down the highway at 135 mph with no trouble. It had at least 150-160 mph in her. The handling at speed is not as tight as a z4 that i drove, but the differnece is about 30k withe the same bells and whistles, on the back roads, handling was just like my 5 series bmw, no problem eating up the back roads. So for all you naysayers the proof is in the puddin.

Ok so honda just decided ta'hell with it an brought the inspire straight over here..which wasnt that hard (new taillight cluster) but the coupe...i cried. it got ugly. the convept shown back in 07 was hot the production version which looked even hotter was better. Honda ur losing it. You just cut off the last of your sport line the S2000. Honda...you let america get to you. Ugly styling, cheap materieals, becoming unrealiable, really honda..im dissapointed. The only thing you really have is the Accord crosstour which needs that rear worked out and the CRZ which needs a performance upgrade....honda you lost me

@ alookman
You said....."Honda cars age gracefull and always a modicum of simplicity and balance." Well, sure it
is "BALANCED".....take a look at the Crosstour, Pilot, Civic Sedan, Fit, and the Element. They sure are BALANCED and GRACEFUL.....NOT!!!.....LOL. Actually, they look as ridiculous as the PACE...(i.e. FIT)....oh, btw, Hyundai/Kia is the new leader of the future as far as design, tech, and reliability...get used to it.

Bunch of sophomoric dribble. Honda cars age gracefull and always a modicum of simplicity and balance. Overstyled cars do look ridiculous after few years? Anyone ever recall that bubble car by AMC called PACE?
Mechanically, yes its outdated! Needs 6 speed manumatic style A/T. Reduce noise, improve brakes, add better size tires for full size car, add blue tooth and USB on radio on all trim levels, and PLEEZE add some HP for its weight! Stay away from that weird EPS on Sonata!

> On both models, the front end looks like it belongs on a vehicle one size larger.
Same thing happened to the new Honda Fit -- this was explained in the forums as a result of new federal hood regulations for pedestrian safety, and that all vehicles would be suffering nose/high hood bloat. (Not sure how true that is though?)
Not a fan of the "bulging head/tail lights" that have infected so many cars.

Not impressed. There was nothing wrong with the previous Accord Coupe lights! Could have updated to LEDs or something. Wow, amazing what is happening at Honda these days and not for the better.
I'm going to call the new front fascia the 'Darth Vader Lip'. Not clean and understated like the Honda's/Acura of the 90's.

Glad to see Honda attempting to update their cars with at least something minor every 2 or 3 years. Some manufacturers (GM comes to mind) let their vehicles go 5-6+ years without touching them. I always remember Honda doing this, all companys should be, like Ford and their fairly significant changes to the Fusion and Edge recently. Back to the Accord it looks like the grill got transfered from the cross-tour and the trunk lights were a afterthought.

The funny thing about Honda is, despite the riot of insideline readers on the styling, people are still going to buy this car just like the people who are still buying plenty of all the other poorly styled hondas and acuras....

Honda....seriously? The sedan taillights look like a complete afterthought (at the very least, the 'clear' section of the taillight on the trunklid should mesh into the clear section on the rest of the taillights), and the grin on the grillblades looks really dorky. Never thought I'd ever say this, but the refreshed Fusion looks soooooooo much better (read: tastefully aggressive) than this car!
I'm ready to give up on Honda. They used to be so awesome and it's like one day, a few years ago, they all decided to collectively smoke crack.
